About Me ( Kacie Davis )My love for dogs and showing career began long before I was even born. My mother (Angela Davis) started showing WesAnn’s Italian Greyhounds in her teen years. She finished 18 home bred champions. Her love for dogs transferred over to my sister (Michelle Queen) and I. Mother took a 6 year break from showing then my sister wanted to start showing her WesAnn’s Whippets. I was 6 years old when I went to my first show and I loved it. I looked up at my mom and said, “I want to show a dog”. Mother gave me one of her Italian Greyhounds and entered me in a show. First time in the ring at the age of 6, I won the open class competition. I was hooked for life.
Even though I like the Italian Greyhounds, I did not think they were the breed for me. I ventured out to "Simon" a Long Coat Dachshund thanks to Beth Reinhardt and won Best of Breed at the age of 8. I love the Dachshunds but I was introduced to lovely breed, Toy Fox Terriers. Jeannette Wright at Belle Amie Kennel with Toy Fox Terriers and Toy poodles is where I got my first Toy Fox from. Thanks to this wonderful lady, I have started my WesAnn’s Toy Fox Terrier. At the age of 10 I finished my first two AKC Champions. This is the breed I want to represent me as a qualified breeder and be known for in the dog show world. I am striving to better the breed and love them unconditionally. |
Juniors Career |
In my junior showmanship years, a Toy Fox Terrier named Jeannie was my premier show dog. Every year I qualified for the Westminster (NYC) and The Eukanuba National Championship Dog Show. Every year I was the Number one Toy Fox Terrier Junior Handler in the Nation and was ranked in the top 30 juniors in the Nation.
The first time I went to the Eukanuba National dog show for juniors I made it through two cuts and won Best of Opposite sex with Jeannie in breed competition. This was a huge accomplishment for me at the age 12. I have shown Mini Bull Terrier, Whippet, Lowchen, Standard Poodle, Vizsla, Giant Schnauzer, and 3 Chihuahuas though-out my junior showmanship career. |
Goals for the Future |
After Junior Showmanship I started handling for others. The main breed I handle is Chihuahuas. However, I am comfortable handling anything from Chihuahuas to Anatolian Shepherds. I love having the opportunity to show for others because it feels great to make other peoples' dreams come true. The connections I make with the dogs and the feeling I get when I step in the ring is like no other. I live to show dogs! Some say it just a hobby but for me it’s a job I love and very passionate about. I step in the ring every time with the plan to show to the best of my ability and make that dog a champion.
